Unearth a Story!  Summer Reading 2026

The focus is on dinosaurs, archeology, paleontology, reading, and having a great time!

Tuesday June 2nd Week 1: Registration Day! Stop by anytime from 10:00-3:30 to sign up for “Unearth a Story! Summer Reading 2026”. Pick up your ‘Summer Time, Fun Time Journals’, Calendar of Events, Reading Buddies and participate in activities. 

Tuesday June 9th Week 2 - 10:00 am: Feathers, Scales and Skin: What Did Dinosaurs Look Like and How Do We Know?  We will discuss what Dinosaurs may have looked like and then you will create your own collage dinosaur on poster board.

Tuesday June 16th Week 3 – 10:00 am: Dinosaurs: Herbivores vs Carnivores. We will be reading, “Dinosaur Dinners” and “Jurassic Poop” and then making our own dino poo!

Tuesday 23rd Week 4 – 10:00 am:  Paleontology Day! Dig up a tiny dino skeleton and make a fossil cast!

Tuesday June 30th Week 5 – 10:00 am: America’s 250th Birthday/ Dinosaurs in America. We will make a Patriotic Dino Sign.

Tuesday July 7th Week 6 – 10:00 am: Dinosaur habitats. Create a paper plate habitat with a tiny dinosaur and small volcano that ‘erupts’!

Wednesday July 15th Week 7 – 10:00 am: Dino Dance Party with snacks and other fun activities!
