The community is mourning the loss of Ann Martin. She was widely regarded within the banking industry and as a pillar of the community.
Martin began her career in banking in 1980 as a part-time teller and bookkeeper. With hard work and dedication, she retired after nearly 42 years having served as marketing president for four years.
“Ann Martin was a vital part of the successes that First & Farmers National Bank achieved over the years. Her dedication to the employees and to the prosperity of the bank was surpassed only by her unwavering commitment to her faith and her family, which she always kept at the forefront,” said Doug Sapp, First & Farmers National Bank director.
Martin was a strong supporter of Lindsey Wilson University. In 2018, she was presented with their Distinguished Alumni Award.
Martin was considered a mentor by many young people in the banking industry. She was also actively involved in the community, serving on boards for the Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce and the Columbia-Adair Economic Development Authority.
