The Columbia-Adair County Fire Department hosted a fundraiser for the WHAS Crusade for Children Saturday evening, raising more than $9,000 by providing a chili supper and a live auction.
Candidates in the upcoming May primary and November general election were invited to speak, and a large number of candidates took them up on the offer and also donated and purchased items in the auction. An Allis Chalmers pedal tractor brought the highest bid of the night at $575.
