Jessie signs with Gardner-Webb University

Easton Jessie, a recent Adair County graduate, has signed to continue his football career at Gardner-Webb University, a division one school. Jessie was recruited by other universities but ultimately chose Gardner-Webb in North Carolina.
Jessie began playing football when he was six years old with little league. He played middle school and four years of high school at Glasgow High School. His family moved to Columbia and he played his senior year at Adair County High School.
In the first home game at Adair County, Jessie tore his ACL. He sat out for two games, and then he continued to play the rest of the season with the injury. As soon as the season was over, he had surgery to repair the ACL and should be cleared to play in July.
Jessie says his biggest influences in football have been Max Staver, his trainer in Nashville, Jeff Richey, his coach in Glasgow, and his family.
One of the most memorable moments of his football career Jessie said was “winning the region championship my freshman year against Bardstown. I started that game too”
“It didn’t go the way I wanted it to because of my injury, but before my injury I was playing really good football. I only had three incompletions in two games which is really good” said Jessie about his senior year playing for Adair County. He said “Once I got hurt, things changed, but we still ended up having the best season in Adair County history so that was good.”
Unfortunately, with a torn ACL he was not able to accomplish all the things that he wanted to for his last high school season. Overall, the team finished in the top 8 with a record of 10-2.
As for the future, Jessie plans to attend the University and major in sports medicine and physical therapy.
