Just two weeks after Superintendent Jason Faulkner cautioned school board members that the completion of a new middle school was “going to be the 11th hour,” he is optimistic the doors will open as scheduled for the upcoming school year.
Faulkner said Monday that plans to have staff meetings prior to the school year at the new building have shifted because seats in the gymnasium will not yet be installed. Other than that, however, the finish line appears to be in sight.
Teachers are going to be told they can begin moving in, and the kitchen staff was already on location Monday bringing in equipment and preparing the area.
There’s still work to be done, but the doors will soon open for middle school students and staff!
