A Burkesville woman charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, 3rd offense; and fleeing and evading police after a single vehicle accident on Friday night in Adair County.
Julia Snellen, 44, was operating a 2015 Kia Sorento on Hwy 61 south of Columbia.
A volunteer firefighter was behind the vehicle and reported that the driver was driving side to side and speeding up then slowing down. Deputy Joey Keith responded to the call.
Once behind the vehicle, he activated his emergency lights and the driver sped up. She turned onto Dividing Ridge Rd .attempting to evade the deputy.
Snellen’s vehicle went off the right side of the road, then the left side of the road and then flipped several times landing approximately 50 foot over an embankment.
Snellen was trapped in the vehicle. Breeding Fire Department extricated the female, who was taken to TJ Health Columbia with minor injuries.
Prior court records show that Snellen has two prior charges for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. She was charged with wanton endangerment in connection with one of the prior DUI’s due to having a child in the vehicle at the time of arrest.
