Chris Reeder, a magistrate with the Adair County Fiscal Court, has successfully completed the Kentucky Chamber’s Fellowship for Civic Leadership, a statewide program that empowers business leaders, aspiring public officials, and civic-minded individuals to make a meaningful impact in their communities.
The Kentucky Chamber launched the Fellowship for Civic Leadership in 2024, with its first cohort graduating in August 2025. The program aims to strengthen civic engagement across the Commonwealth and encourage more business-minded individuals to pursue public service. Over the course of the program, participants engaged with elected officials, policy experts, and campaign professionals while building valuable connections with peers from across Kentucky.
“The Fellowship for Civic Leadership was an invaluable experience that gave me a clearer understanding of what it takes to serve effectively, whether in elected office or through community leadership,” said Reeder. “It connected me with experienced leaders from across Kentucky, provided practical tools I can use to make a positive impact, and inspired me to be more engaged in shaping the future of my community.”
The program’s fellows represent diverse industries and regions but share a common goal: strengthening Kentucky through principled leadership and a commitment to service rooted in the values of free enterprise.
“We are proud to celebrate the first graduates of the Fellowship for Civic Leadership,” said Ashli Watts, President and CEO of the Kentucky Chamber. “This program was created to encourage more leaders to step forward in service to their communities, and its impact will grow as fellows put their skills, relationships, and experiences into action. We believe the benefits of their leadership will be felt across Kentucky for many years to come.”
