A second juvenile has died following an accident that occurred in Russell County on April 20.
According to social media posts by the child’s mother, Melissa Morey, David Cecil King, Jr. died Tuesday night. He was a sixth grader at Adair County Middle School.
Skyler Huckaby, 14, an 8th grader at ACMS, died the night of the accident.
The driver, David King, 31, of Columbia, has been charged in the death of Huckaby and is facing a charge of vehicular homicide under the influence of alcohol.
King is also charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, 3rd offense, aggravating circumstances; assault, 1st degree; wanton endangerment, 1st degree; reckless driving; and failure to wear seat belts.
Additional charges are expected to be filed.
King was in Russell County District Court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing. The case was waived to grand jury. He remains under a $500,00 bond.
