Adair County celebrates Independence Day events
Friday, July 3
- Columbia Nights — 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
- Jack Fishback Performance — 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. on the Public Square
- Thunder over Casey Creek
- 17121 Knifley Road
- Concessions begin at 5 p.m. CST
- Bring a lawn chair and the whole family
- Fireworks begin at dark
Saturday, July 4
- Columbia Cruise-In Block Party — 5 p.m. until after the fireworks in Priceless Parking Lot
Independence on the Grounds
Adair County Fairgrounds - 256 Industrial Park Road
- 3:00 p.m. – Train rides begin – cost $5
- 3:00 p.m. – Food trucks open
- 4:00 p.m. – Free Family Fun Games begin
- Tug of War
- Three-Legged Race
- Puzzle
- Egg Toss
- Needle in the Haystack
- Watermelon Eating Contest
- Tire Toss
- Water Relay
Competition Information
- Grand prize of $500 for the Family Fun Games competition.
- Ribbon competitions are available for anyone who wants to participate in games, except for the puzzle.
- Fishing game offers a chance to win $50 if a participant lands the object in the cup.
- Maximum of one winner for the fishing game.
- Family teams must consist of 4–6 people.
- Winners are determined using a point system.
