Adair County FFA makes its mark at Ky. State Fair

Adair County FFA members represented their chapter at the Kentucky State Fair this past week, taking part in a variety of state-level contests.
Students competed in events ranging from livestock and crop entries to mechanics and judging teams, showcasing the skills they have developed through months of preparation.
The fair provided members with the opportunity to demonstrate their hard work and dedication while competing against peers from across the state.
Hudson Hancock won grand champion in the state for his 2024 corn (old corn).
The chapter agricultural mechanics exhibit consisted of five projects that were entered and judged as one. The team consisted of Billy Bell, Ethan Wooten, Brent Moore, James Jessie, and Jordan Willis. As a team, they won best in state for the combined agricultural mechanics. Each team member also won a blue ribbon for the individual exhibits.
The welding team consisting of Hailey Darling, Brent Moore, Jordan Willis, and Caleb Snow placed second in the state and won a combined total of $5,000 in scholarships to Kentucky Institute of Welding.

• John Gaskins (ACMS FFA), 12th place in state soybeans
• Hudson Hancock, 2025 corn and soybeans, blue ribbon
• Lane Kelsay, 2025 corn and soybeans, blue ribbon
• Braxton Irvin, 2025 corn and soybeans, blue ribbon
• Brent Moore, eighth high individual in welding
• Hailey Darling, sixth high individual in welding
• Jordan Willis, fifth high individual in welding
• Breanna Phipps, Seed ID, sixth Place
• Breanna Foster, Emma Dorman, Katherine Lemon and Kayla Allen, floriculture, ninth place
• Abby Maulden, Alayna Marcum, Maycee Hovious, and Katie Kean, senior dairy judging, third place
• Hudson Hancock, Claire Loy, Braxton Irvin, Allee Campbell, and John Hunter Stotts, Jr. Livestock Judging- seventh place
• Allee Campbell, ninth high individual in livestock judging
•Meats Judging, Myla Curry, Braydon Fitzgerald, James Jessie, and Lane Kelsay -13th place
