The fourth annual Columbia Cruise-In will return Saturday, May 9, with the debut of a monthly car show added to the event.
The Cruise-In and car show will be held the second Saturday of each month from May through August at the Adair County Judicial Center, 201 Campbellsville St.
The cruise-in is free for anyone who wants to bring a car, truck or motorcycle, as well as for spectators. It will follow the same format as in previous years, with participants registering their vehicles, receiving a number and becoming eligible for door prizes.
There is a $15 entry fee for the car show. There will be 10 participant-judged classes: Best GM, Best Ford, Best Mopar, Best Late Model, Best Motorcycle, Best Custom, Best Foreign, Best Truck, Best Rat Rod and Mayor’s Choice. Trophies will be awarded to winners in each category.
The event will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. each month and will include food vendors, music and activities for the entire family.
“I want it to be universal so everybody can enjoy it,” said event organizer Robert Knight. “We get a lot of good feedback from it, and people in the community really enjoy it.”
