Food pantry hosting potato fundraiser

Posted

Ole Joe Barbee is bringing his famous barbecue loaded baked potato back to help the Adair County Food Pantry on Friday, Oct. 3 beginning at 10:30 a.m. until sold out.
The loaded potatoes will have butter, sour cream, cheese, and pulled pork barbecue, and a drink will be included for $10. Special orders cannot be accommodated, but local delivery is available.
To reserve a loaded potato, call or text Michelle at 270-250-5432 or call Richard at 270-378-1162. Reservations may be made through today. On Friday, it will be first come, first serve.
The food pantry is funded solely on donations and fundraising. Anyone who needs food can pick up a box once a month at their location on S. Monroe St. (behind the United Methodist Church). The food pantry is open on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon.
“We give 325 solid boxes a month,” said Michelle Fruth. “We add six to eight new families a week.”
Monetary donations and non-perishable food items are always welcome and appreciated.
