James Allen “Jimmy” Wethington of Columbia, formerly of Clementsville, the son of the late James Harold “Jim Duck” and Patricia Sue (Fisher) Wethington, was born September 12, 1957, in Missouri and departed this life on Monday, January 5, 2026, in Danville at the Select Specialty Hospital. He was 68 years of age.
He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and attended the St. Bernard Catholic Church in Clementsville.
Jimmy was a handyman and loved technology.
Survivors include his children, Cory, Cris, and Casey; his step-children, Jennifer and Emily; and his former spouse, Erlinda Ordonez Wethington; three sisters and two brothers, Mary Ann and Joe, Tom and Christie, John and Shelia, Anna Marie and Peggy, and Jason; his fiancé of 15 years, Paulette Susan Pittman; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Alicia May.
To honor Jimmy’s request, cremation rites were entrusted to L.R. Petty Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, burial followed in the church cemetery.
