Larry Gene Bryant, 74, of Columbia, passed away on January 28, 2026 at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 30, 1951, in Columbia, Larry exemplified a life dedicated to farming and the cultivation of both land and family bonds.
Throughout his life, Larry was best known for his passion for farming and his dedication to spending quality time with his family and friends. His greatest joy came from his grandchildren, with whom he shared countless cherished moments, and he took immense pride in their accomplishments and happiness.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Donna; their children, Carl Johnson (Sherri), and Leslie Murphy (Terry), both of Columbia; his legacy continues through his grandchildren, Rachel Stephens (Garret), Luke Stephens, Baylee Walker (Wes), and Connor Johnson; as well as his great-grandchildren, Oakley Stephens, Layken Bryant Stephens, Brewer Stephens, Maeve Walker, and Grace Walker.
He also leaves behind several nephews and a niece, Jimmy Banks (Heidi), Jeff Banks (Kelli), Chris Reams (Tammy), Billy Reams, and Heather Lanzilotta Jacobi; along with great-nephews, Jackson and Sam.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Oren Clare and Mabel Katherine Wood Bryant; two infant children; and two sisters, Carol Banks and Betty Jennings.
Funeral services were held February 1, 2026 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
Larry Gene Bryant will be remembered for his steadfast dedication to his family, his love for the land he farmed, and the warmth he brought to all those who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
