Nearly two dozen original pieces of art created by Lindsey Wilson University alumni are on display now through Dec. 12 in the university's Lucretia C. Begley Art Gallery.

The annual "Lindsey Wilson Alumni Art Show" features 20 works from a wide range of Lindsey Wilson alumni from throughout the years.

"It is such a pleasure to celebrate LWU alumni, especially through the arts," said Lindsey Wilson art instructor Kristyne Gilbert, who curated the show with help from Begley Art Gallery assistants Annabelle Rucker '30 of Nicholasville, Kentucky, and De'Asia Fisher '30 of Campbellsville, Kentucky.

In addition to connecting with alumni by showcasing their artwork, Gilbert said the exhibit is "an opportunity for our students to experience and explore art that has been created by fellow Blue Raiders."

Gilbert said that one piece that especially stands out is "Janice Holt Giles House," a painting by 1967 alumnus Larry Parker of the famous Adair County author's residence near Knifley.

"Its intricate attention to detail and the subtle color selection are quite impressive," said Gilbert.

A public reception for the show will be from 4:30-6:30 p.m. CT on Thursday, Nov. 5, in the Begley Art Gallery. Hosted by the Lindsey Wilson School of Arts and Humanities, the reception is part of the university's 2026 Homecoming activities.

"Every day is a good day to celebrate the arts, but to host the alumni art show elevates the celebration with an opportunity to connect with and showcase their artistic talent," said Gilbert. "For LWU students, the alumni art show is a conduit into their future potential as art makers and creates a dialogue on the value and importance of arts and culture."
