Rev. Howard I. Britt of Jamestown passed away Sunday, September 20, 2026 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset. He was born July 10, 1946 to the late Jessie Dean and Johnnie Kent Britt.
He was the Pastor of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He also served our country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He worked for the Fruit of the Loom as well. He is preceded in death by one son: Howard Anthony Britt, two brothers: Gary Britt and Errol Britt.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Britt of Jamestown; three sons, Nick Britt of Jamestown, Ashuna Mickel Britt of Somerset and Casey Curtis of Lawrenceburg; one daughter, LaNisha Burton-Neathery of Jamestown; one brother, Jogn Marshall Britt of Champaigne, Illinois, two sisters, Geneva Robertson- Mohammed of New York; and Victoria Douglas of Springfield, Illinois; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Pope delivering the Eulogy.
Burial in New Zion Cemetery with full military honors presented by V.F. W. Post 6097.
Visitation after 5 p.m. Friday and anytime on Saturday before service time.
