Sheriff's office investigates two-vehicle collision.

A 15-year-old Columbia juvenile was airlifted to a Lexington hospital Sunday after a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. 55 and Cane Valley Road.

According to the Adair County Sheriff’s Office, the juvenile was driving a 2007 Toyota Camry and was attempting to turn left from Cane Valley Road onto U.S. 55 when the vehicle entered the path of a northbound 2007 Peterbilt tractor-trailer.

The Peterbilt was driven by Benjamin Hardin of Campbellsville.

The juvenile was transported by helicopter to a Lexington hospital for injuries sustained in the collision.

The collision remains under investigation by Adair County Deputy Ricky Shirley.

Adair County EMS, the Columbia-Adair County Fire Department and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet assisted at the scene.
