The Adair Sportsman Club has served the community for more than 70 years, continuing its mission to promote hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities. The club provides a place for both recreation and education.
The membership fee is $75 per year which runs from January through December. Members receive an access code to enter the grounds, and each membership covers immediate family members age 18 and older living in the same household. Individuals must be at least 18 to become a member.
Those who join have unlimited access to the club’s facilities, including free use of shooting ranges except during special events. Discounted entry fees are given to members for hosted events. The grounds include a 300-yard range, a 100-yard range and multiple 50-yard ranges.
A trap range is available, but it may only be used when a designated club member is present to oversee the range.
In addition to member use, the club offers its building and pavilion for public rental for $100 per day. This is a great option for gatherings and events that offers privacy and convenience.
The club meets regularly on the first Tuesday of each month at 5 p.m., providing members an opportunity to stay involved and informed.
Throughout the year, the club hosts a variety of activities and educational opportunities. These include pistol club shoots, trap shoots and archery events featuring 3D targets. Specialty shooting events such as black powder shoots, rimfire competitions and bowling pin shoots are also held.
The facility also serves as a place for safety and training. The Armed Women of America hold their month meetings at the club. Hunter education and concealed carry permit classes are also offered.
For the last two years, the club has held a Haunted Forest fundraiser held on the grounds.
The Adair Sportsman Club is located at 7200 Fairplay Road. More information about membership and a full calendar of events can be found at adairsportsman.org.
