William “Billy” Murrell Willis, 67, of Columbia, died Monday, June 8, 2026 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.
He was born February 27,1959, in Adair County. He graduated from Adair County High School and earned a master’s degree in horticulture from Western Kentucky University. He was a lifelong farmer and a member of Columbia United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, William “Billy” Chatman Willis.
Survivors include his mother, Bessie Combest Willis of Columbia; his sister, Sherry Willis Cowherd and husband David of Campbellsville; his nieces, Carrie Cowherd Gupton and husband Joe, Jessie Cowherd Brockman, and Rebekah Cowherd Renner and husband Isaac; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Ella, Maggie and James Gupton, Theodore and Simon Brockman; and several other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 12, 2026 at 1 p.m. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home. Pastor Ryan Boatright officiated.
Burial in Columbia Cemetery.
