William Darrell Young of Florida, formerly of Columbia, passed away on November 26, 2025 in Hospice in Florida. He was 86 years old.
Born July 28, 1939, on Jamestown Hill in Columbia, and graduated from Adair
County High School. He was the son of the late Clyde Young and Anna
(Cole) Young. Darrell was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Clyde Young.
Survivors include his wife, Frieda Young, FL; daughter Darilyn Hartenhoff (Kenneth) Brownsville; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn Hartenhoff, Brownsville, and Michael Hartenhoff; five great grandchildren, Waylon Browning, Amia Kinser, Nolan Patton, Zayden Hartenhoff, and
Mason Hartenhoff all from Brownsville; and ex-wife Barbara Finn, Arizona.
At Darrell’s request there will be no public service or visitation. Burial will be private in Haven Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity.
