8th Grade Volleyball claims CKMSAC title

The Adair County Middle School eighth-grade volleyball team capped off a dominant season by finishing 11-1 in regular-season play and winning the CKMSAC Tournament championship. The team was also crowned regular-season champions and will compete in one final tournament Saturday at Lindsey Wilson University.
Coach Josh Kreiner said Paisley Adams and Kaylence Bennett were two key players for the eighth-grade team.
“Paisley was great offensively for us. Both setting and attacking the ball. Her serve has been a weapon for us all year,” he said.
“Kaylence was our defensive anchor this weekend. She led our team in digs and always came through for us in serve receive,” he said.
Kreiner said that they competed against two good teams in Russell and Green County and he was proud of the team’s determination to win.
“It was really awesome to see the 8th grade class finish on top,” he said.
The seventh-grade team finished 9-5 on the season and were runners-up in the CKMSAC Tournament.
The sixth-grade squad ended the year with a 6-6 record and placed third in the CKMSAC Tournament.

“It’s been a great season for me coming in and building on what Coach Houchens has done for the last couple of years,” said Coach Josh Kreiner. “We saw a ton of growth, and I am really proud of our players and where we ended our season.”
