The Adair County High School football team left everything on the field Friday night, falling 20-22 in double overtime to McCreary Central. The Indians lived up to their motto, “Focus–Fight–Finish,” battling through adversity until the final whistle.
Adair continually made big plays, only to see several touchdowns and long gains erased by penalties.
"I'm so proud of the way our young men played through adversity tonight. Time after time we had touchdowns and big gains called back for apparent penalties, yet we didn't get our heads down," said Head Coach Bryan Cross. "We continued to fight and work to put ourselves in a position to win at the end."
“The effort our team played with was incredible tonight. The boys displayed heart and tenacity throughout the game” said Cross.
“We work to put ourselves in a position to win the game and we did that. Sure, there were some controversial calls, but you cannot allow yourself to get into a situation for the officiating to be a factor. We have to leave no doubt. The margin for error in football is so small; every play matters.” he said.
The team will be back in action Friday night at home at 7 p.m. This will be a big night for everyone with Homecoming, Brown and Brown Hall of Fame inductees tailgating, and the first game played on the new Indian field.
