High school girls’ basketball trends in right direction with five recent wins

Posted

The Lady Indians have won five of their last seven games and hold a 9-6 record midway through the season, showing steady improvement as the season progresses.
Through 15 games, the Lady Indians have found consistency on both ends of the floor. Kinzlee Akin leads the team in scoring, averaging 13.3 points per game, followed by Reese Bardin at 11.5 points per game. Bardin also tops the team in rebounding with an average of 5.2 per game, while Anika Jennings contributes 4.4 rebounds per game.
With 12 regular-season games remaining before postseason play, the team continues to build momentum under first-year head coach Hunter Cundiff.
“We have won 5 of our last 7 so we are trending in the right direction. I think we are finally starting to click and understand what’s expected to win basketball games,” said Cundiff. “Our schedule only gets tougher from here with teams like Edmonson and Etown, but I believe playing these tough teams makes you better.”
As the competition intensifies, the Lady Indians will look to carry their recent success forward while continuing to develop under new leadership.
