Indians volleyball surpasses last year’s win total

The Adair County boys’ volleyball team has already made strides this season, surpassing last year’s win total and posting an 8-6 record coming out of Spring Break.
Head Coach Andrew Reliford said the team has shown significant improvement from a year ago.
“We have doubled the amount of wins we had from last season,” Reliford said. “We have progressed by miles since last season.”
Despite the success, the Indians expect to face challenges down the stretch. Reliford said the team will be short-handed for the remainder of the season due to injuries and sharing athletes with other sports.
“We, unfortunately, will be short-handed the rest of the season,” he said, noting roster limitations have become part of managing a growing program.
Even with those challenges, the program continues to build momentum. Reliford said he hopes the team’s progress will help attract more players in the future.
“We hope to attract more and more players for many seasons to come,” he said.
Adair County has eight regular-season matches remaining before postseason play begins with the region tournament.
The Indians have also gained additional experience at the junior varsity level, playing four JV matches so far this season with three more scheduled.
