Adair County Lady Indians opened their season Tuesday night with a 72–64 loss to Cumberland County in Hunter Cundiff’s first game as head coach.
“We started the game perfect, I mean, but we didn’t shoot very well from the three, not uncharacteristically like us even though it’s 40 percent, that’s still not good enough,” said Coach Cundiff in a post-game interview.
“It’s just first game, first game jitters. They are getting used to the temp because I play a lot quicker than they did last year,” he said.
Adair County delivered a strong effort in the home matchup but was unable to overcome Cumberland County’s offense down the stretch. The Lady Indians remained competitive throughout, keeping the game within reach and battling until the end.
“Community, come out and support us. We got a great group of girls out here,” said Cundiff.
The Lady Indians will be on the road Friday night to play Campbellsville at 5:30 p.m.
