Indians receive rings recognizing historic wins

A ring ceremony was held Friday night prior to the Adair County boys’ basketball game against Taylor County.
The rings commemorate the mark made by two teams on the history of Adair County basketball.
During the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons, the Indians earned back-to-back regional championships and trips to the Sweet Sixteen, an accomplishment that had not been achieved since 1955.
“It was rejuvenating to see the players, coaches, and support staff back together in John Burr Memorial Gymnasium to receive their rings,” said Athletic Director Tyler Maskill. “Their smiles were priceless and we know the fans loved seeing them again.”
A group of sponsors came together to purchase rings for players, coaches and staff. Several of the sponsors were on hand Friday night to present the rings during the ceremony.
“A huge thank you to our sponsors for making the memorable night come to fruition,” said Maskill. “Adair County athletics and Adair County basketball were honored to have each of you hand out the rings to our champions.”
