The Adair County Indians dominated in the first round of the Kentucky 2A Championship, defeating Corbin 3-0 to earn a spot in the semi-finals. The team’s victory came after a hard-fought match, securing their place as one of the top contenders for the title.
Adair’s victory over Corbin set the stage for a semi-final match with Lexington Catholic, where they hoped to continue their championship journey. Unfortunately for the Indians, they were overpowered, falling 0-3 to Lexington Catholic.
Despite the loss, Adair’s run to the semi-finals in the Kentucky 2A Championship highlighted the team’s growth and promise for the future.
“We are proud of our girls and how they played at the 2A state tournament. They battled in the semi-final game against the eventual 2A champions, Lexington Catholic” said Head Coach Michelle Neat. “We obviously wanted to win the whole tournament, but the experience will be good for us regardless as we move into the second half of our season. Our community was so supportive of our team, and we are so thankful for all the love we’ve been shown.”
The team will be in action at 5 p.m. Thursday night at home against the Campbellsville Eagles.
