Ryder Rodgers made program history Saturday, becoming the first Adair County wrestler to qualify for the KHSAA state wrestling tournament.
Rodgers secured his spot in the state finals with a fourth-place finish in the 190-pound division at the regional tournament. His placement earned him a berth in the state tournament and marked a milestone moment for the first-year program.
At 126 pounds, Tripp Stotts placed fifth, qualifying as an alternate for the state tournament. Brayden Taylor added to the team’s strong showing with a sixth-place finish in his weight class.
As a team, Adair County finished 11th out of 21 schools at the regional meet, just one point shy of a top-10 finish.
In its inaugural season, the program demonstrated significant progress and competitive depth, highlighted by a historic state qualification and multiple podium finishes at the regional level.
